So, let’s go over the list one last time. The perfect Christmas gift for your ship-enthusiast: check. A playlist of old sailor’s songs, giving Bublé a deserved vacation: check. A festive menu that can put a cruise master chef to shame: check. Enough maritime-inspired decoration to turn the house into a ship-chandler’s shop: check. Original but inexpensive stocking fillers…
I’ve got your back.
1. Titanic Memorabilia Pack
After so many years, this remains one of the coolest cheap as chips gifts for any occasion. Serious but entertaining, the set includes color copies of important Titanic relics, like the notorious distress telegram, original flyers, and dinner menus. Success guaranteed.
2. Ship-Design Socks
Socks are one of those gifts you can only get away with if they are fun. Well, these are hilarious, and they come in great colors.
3. Pop-up Cards
Admission: I sometimes mail these to myself. But your loved ones are lucky to have you, and whether you fancy a classic man o’ war or a dragon-head Viking ship, pop-up cards come in countless shapes and genres.
4. Card Games
These are totally addictive and, I would argue, not just for ship-lovers. It is hard to believe how something so small and inexpensive can pack such a wallop in terms of entertainment.
5. Decoration and Toys
Come on – just because we love greasy diesel engines doesn’t mean we aren’t tickled pink by holiday glitter! And for those who fall into that category, some noble people out there have crafted beautiful ship-inspired Christmas toys. Balls and stars are great, but an ocean liner is greater.
6. Curios
Stocking fillers are meant to boost the mood, and if a paper-boat tea infuser or Captain Haddock’s dorky figure can’t bring a smile to your beloved ship-lover’s face, they need to work on their attitude. Worth a try, in any event.
